FW18-19

Let me tell you something about trends and its algorithmic cycle: Seasons are continuous, so basically when a trend is spotted during a certain season (SS18 for example), you can be sure that it will be on all runways by the next collection (FW1819). With that said, you will notice a lot of similarities with my previous Spring Summer trend report whereby some trends were not as developed as this Fall.

MAMAS you can think of it as a baby growing up from one season to another!

  1. The More The Merrier: A trend I’m a big fan of and honestly the most excited about is layering. The art of throwing on so many different layers, and still manage to make it look stylish, is not easy. Trust me. Do not think of this trend as a “lazy” and “unbothered” one, you can make it look high fashion. That’s the beauty of fashion, you can play around as much as you please.
  2. Rawr Your Way Into Fall: To be honest, I was stunned too. We always had this misperception that wearing a full head-to-toe animal print look would seem tacky. While watching the runway shows this season and looking at celebrity street styles, I have learned that it is not the case anymore. With it being a big trend for this year, check out how Victoria Beckham, Tom Ford and Adam Selman made it look cool and wearable. Tip: To upgrade your look, you can always “mix and match” two different prints in your outfit.
  3. Shine Bright: ‘High shine’ everything is a trend this fall. From shiny fabric, to sequins and metallics, enjoy standing out with your sparkle in a crowd this season. You can tone it down as seen in Chanel and Erdem, or go completely wild as seen in Balmain. The cool thing with this trend is that it can be perfect for a night out or for an evening cocktail get-together.4. Play With Plaid: Tartan, Prince of Wales, plaid…. you name it. Checks in all their colors and forms are a trend. You can’t wear anything but plaid this season. You can now spoil yourself with some Clueless 90s vibes. From Christian Dior’s suit, to Marc Jacobs’ fitted dress and Versace’s ensemble; you can rock this trend easily and according to your preferences. 5.To Tweed Or Not to Tweed: If you were wondering what tweed is, it is everything that reminds us of Chanel. The fashion house has been basically the mother of all tweed. From coats, to suits and skirts, you name it. The tweed trend is the answer to all your fashion prayers. It is chic, stylish and perfect for your everyday fall strolls around town or at the office.Five fall trends you can play around with this season. There are no rules in fashion, and that’s the beauty of it. I love experimenting when it comes to fashion so I will definitely be trying out all five of them or maybe even mix some of them together. Which one is your favorite trend this season?
